How Do I Create A Live Chat System On My Business Module Website?

Its one thing to have a business running and its yet another to make sure it functions to its maximum capacity. We have created a simple step by step process to take you through the live chat support system so you can tally in hand with customers at all levels comfortably. The following process is applicable to all owners of the business module who intend to have the live chat support on their websites. The good news is, it can be applied using  personal computer, and any mobile device!

            TO SIGN UP AND CONNECT BUSINESS MODULE WEBSITE USING BROWSER ON PC.

Step 1: Open your browser and type link https://www.tawk.to/ insert your name, email address and select a password of your choice that can be easily remembered and proceed to select the "sign up for free" option.

Step 2. You will be automatically redirected to the "Language Page", select English:


Step 3. Proceed to enter the site name and URL of your business module account as seen below:


Step 4: On the "Team members" page, click on "skip" and proceed to the install widget screen. 


On this command, leave the page open and proceed to open a new tab on your browser and type in www.commissions.ng  to log in to your dashboard and select "Website" on the left side of the dash screen. 

Step 5. After selecting website, proceed to click on "Edit".

Step 6. Scroll down to click on "Advanced Stuff".


Step 7. Return to the tawk.to tab and copy code from the "install widget". 

Step 8. Return to your website dashboard on commissions.ng after selecting the advanced stuff screen, scroll down to "Live Chat Script" and then proceed to paste code on the live chat script. Scroll down to select "Save".



Step 9. Type in your business module website in another tab and you will automatically find a pop up inviting you to "live chat" anytime someone visits your site.

Step 10. To respond anytime you have a notification for an incoming chat, simply click on the icon that says "incoming" and then proceed to click on "join". That will automatically allow you chat with your visitors. 


Step 11. For recording and ticketing purposes so as to enable you respond to chats even after the visitor has left please ask for their names and email addresses and then proceed to have details saved on the right side of the screen as marked in red on image.

Step 12. For easy chats and saved reply, you can add shortcuts on your tawk.to account. Simply select add on the right side of the screen as shown below:

Step 13. Please proceed to add the shortcut message of your choice and select save. You can add as many as you deem fit. Select a letter to easily direct you to the message. For instance in the image below, we have selected "W" to be "a welcome message" so anytime you have a new chat on your keyboard, select / followed by w and you will get the welcome to... on the text screen.

Step 14. There will be instances where you miss a chat. In such cases, if you have the persons email address and name you can easily send them a ticket to mail them answers to their questions. This is how to respond to a missed chat. Click on Messaging on the left side of the home screen.


Ste 15. Select "open" on the right side of the screen after clicking messaging, selecting open will take you to missed chats while closed chats will take you to already responded chats. In this case, you click on open.


Step 16. Type in your response and then click create. This will automatically send them an email containing your response to their questions while you were unavailable. This is why it is important to always ask for names and emails to enable you respond to missed chats.


NOTE: You can either attend to chats via your browser or on your mobile Phone. For easy access via your mobile phone, install the app, and sign in to the account using the email and password used during sign up process. Henceforth, you will receive an alert anytime you have a customer waiting for a live chat support.
